Treatment options are available to you
If you’ve been diagnosed with hATTR amyloidosis, there are treatment options available that address the underlying cause of disease. Some of these work by reducing the body’s production of TTR protein while others bind to these proteins and prevent them from forming amyloid deposits. Liver and/or heart transplantation may also be options for some patients.
Medications may be prescribed to help manage certain symptoms that can impact daily living and quality of life. Since the symptoms of hATTR amyloidosis can worsen over time, once a diagnosis has been confirmed it’s important to undergo appropriate therapy as soon as possible.
